Our weekly carnivals are run on Saturday mornings from September through to March each year with a few weeks break over Christmas.
We run on a 2 week rotating program of events with the timetable available via our TeamApp or download our Weekly Event Program (PDF). In the event of wet weather, we amend the program for safety. If a carnival is cancelled due to the grounds being too wet or due to council closure – we carry the program over to the following week.
Events typically start at 8am, although some groups will have earlier starts to fit everything into their schedule. For example, javelin and walks usually start at 7:30am sharp. Athletes shoud arrive at Rotary 10-15 minutes before the start of their first event – this is especially important for early walks or distance events.
Athletes are expected to wear our club uniform top to weekly carnivals and must display their current season athlete number on the front and age group patch on the shoulder. Footware is compulsory for all athletes – it is not permitted to compete in bare feet. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions list for more information about uniforms and shoes, including spikes.
Parents must remain on site for the duration of the carnival and are expected to assist their age group managers with running the carnivals. Little Athletics is a volunteer organisation and can only run if everyone helps. A weekly roster for setup and packup duties will be published via TeamApp, with the parents of different age groups expected to assist each week.
We have a BBQ and coffee van available most mornings and our canteen has drinks and snacks available. Payment is via credit/debit card only – no cash transactions permitted.
