Northern Suburbs Little Athletics Centre (NSLAC) runs weekly athletics carnivals and provides coaching to kids of all abilities aged 4 to 17 years old. Our athletics season runs from September to March.
During the off-season, which is generally term 2 and 3 of the school year, NSLAC hires athletics equipment to local schools for use in their athletics carnivals held at Rotary Athletics Field.
As a volunteer-run organisation, all profits from our school hires go back into the club to provide new equipment, subsidise entry to championship events and pay for qualified coaches to train our club’s young athletes.
We would suggest the following steps to ensure you’re well prepared for your school carnival:
- Contact Willoughby Council to book Rotary Athletics Field – also book a backup date in case of wet weather causing the council to close the grounds.
- Book buses early – it can be difficult to find availability at short notice
- Contact hire@nslac.com.au to request an equipment hire form – ideally at least 4-6 weeks prior to your carnival date.
- Please note we are not currently providing timing gates for school use – we advise you to contact Timing Gate Solutions timingsolutions.com.au/schools
- It is the responsibility of the hirer to organise access to the following facilities at Rotary directly with Council for the day of your carnival – NSLAC cannot open these facilities for you:
- Canteen
- PA System
- Changerooms
- Gates to parking near the canteen
- Gates to the field for high jump equipment access
Once we have your hire form and have confirmed details, one of our team will coordinate with you about access to equipment.
On the day of the carnival, someone will meet you at Rotary early to get the equipment out for you, ready for your team to get set up. They will return at packup time to put the equipment away.
Billing will be by invoice (payment by credit card or EFT) or via Dept of Education purchase order.
Note that we do not provide equipment for use at other venues – only at Rotary.
